Doctor Who:Companion Chronicles: Quinnis

Image
Quinnis timeline code #0B.1 was written by Marc Platt was released in December 2010. *spoilers* It opens with Susan having left the doctors years ago reminiscing about how young n reckless she was in a past adventures, when Susan accidentally put many peoples lives in danger. Instantly hooked in this story. At the market place on Quinnis a character calls the Doctor a rain maker and Susan finds this rare fish in a bottle i love these slice of life scenes, even having  jokes of the doctors pockets having extremely random things is a nice touch. As this  girl watches on, this girl is called Meedla and she later befriends Susan. After a few moments its revealed the town turned the old rain maker away, they saw them as bad luck. This scene continues leading to the people of Quinnis trying to burn the rain makers house down. The Doctor forcing the people to put the fire out with water which is very precious but the Doctor promises that he will make it rain for them.  So the do...

Doctor Who: Companion Chronicles: The Alchemists

Image
The Alchemist is an extremely thought provoking story timeline code number #0.11 *spoilers* This story is told in a letter format too a future companion Barbara, meant to be read if Susan leaves or dies its interesting to think that she had that on her mind during s1. The story takes place before Unearthly Child with the Doctor n Susan looking for a place to stay commenting how funny it is that the Tardis keeps coming back to Earth. The Tardis lands in Berlin, the Doctors as giddy as a school boy. Love the idea of the Doctor still looking through that first contact disk from The Beginning and learning about earth history though that explaining how he knows historical figures from the time. The pair go to an exchange shop to exchange some old gold coins to modern currency, meeting the man behind the till who agrees to help the doctor go to the National Socialist party where earth greatest minds gather, Einstein and Heisenberg to name a few. When arriving the Doctor tries to pay th...

Doctor Who: Companion Chronicles: The Sleeping Blood

Image
Sleeping blood timeline code number #0.5  *spoilers* The story opens with Susan describing The Tardis as a make shift home, its cute, even if she struggles with this new feeling. It reminds her of the time The Doctor falls ill after a plant scrapes his hand. This reminds me of the Varga plants from Kembal. Susan really starts taking charge and responsibility here, I enjoy the desperation but also the courage Carol Ann Ford performs for Susan. They arrive on the planet Rua, which has Nanotech to help with stuff like medicine for the body is a very interesting concept. Susan encounters these robot spider creatures which stings her, reminding me of the spiders used in the new series. In this story they are used as security robots. Susan heads back to the Tardis but shes being followed by something else, someone else. The way Susan describes the environment around them is gripping as shes running from this thing, but she is slowly caught by a man called Kendrick described as a robotic ...

Doctor Who: Companion Chronicle: The Beginning

Image
*Spoilers* The Beginning is a cracking 50th annaversary release timeline number #0.2 released in November 2013, Written by Marc Platt. Marc Platt really wrote a lot of these stories so far haha. Love how this is there first adventure in The T ardis  just after the exile, told from Susan point of view we never really get to know what she’s feeling or thinking so its a nice change of pace, after all the range i called the Companion Chronicles. After they take off The Doctor accidentally kidnapped another time lord called Stoyn, he was the engineer of the ship ... The Doctor kidnapping people since The Beginning. Stoyn is played by Terry Molloy, who you may know as playing davros.  The 1st Doctor is given an ultimatum by Stoyn, leading to him actually hitting the console till it brakes it's an amazing explanation later as to why he can’t properly pilot it. The Tardis lands on a N ew World it's described perfectly with being so new to The Doctor and Susan but being new it sel...
